Love, generosity pours from community
The holiday season will be a lot brighter for people with disabilities – because of you.
Every year, around the holidays, Angels in the community support individuals at CPARC.
“The generosity shown this year was overwhelming,” says Holly Turner, Director of Advocacy. Your support this year is a wonderful display of good-will. Every gift tag was taken from our trees!
“There was a great need for some of our individuals this year. People really stepped up,” Holly says.
There was an outpouring of support from staff, folks on Facebook and in the community. Area businesses – like Highmark and Lawrence Chevy – also collected and sent wrapped gifts.
This year, we had a sweet surprise from Boiling Springs High School’s Life Skills class and Inclusion Club. They made homemade cards and organized a charity bake sale! They donated 100% of their proceeds to Angels.
According to the club, “the people we will help live in group homes or residences and don’t have a lot of money and sometimes don’t have a lot of family either.”
For some individuals in CPARC services, we are their only family. You should see their smiles when they open your gifts. Thank you!
Because of you, people with disabilities can celebrate the joy of the holidays with a gift from their secret Santa.
