You can ‘make a bid’ for our folks

Bob is all smiles at the 2019 holiday party for folks in our homes and apartments.

Passes for cooking classes, gift cards galore, and so much more await you!

Items are up for bid Dec. 4-13. This online charity auction is hosted by The Rotary Club of Carlisle and the Rotary Club of Carlisle-Sunrise.

Typically the clubs host an in-person auction. With the COVID-19 pandemic, things needed to change. Now, this charity fundraiser has gone virtual!

Auction coordinator, Bill Blankmeyer hopes that the new online format will “allow for increased participation as we can open up the bidding to the entire community.”

Proceeds from this year’s auction benefit the Arc of Cumberland & Perry Counties (CPARC), a non-profit organization that helps people with intellectual disabilities live the happy, healthy lives in the community.

“We are thrilled that the Rotary Clubs choose CPARC this year,” says Anne Couldridge, CPARC’s Executive Director. “COVID-19 continues to challenge our daily operations, but our staff team remains committed to providing excellent care to our folks.”

She adds, “Support from Rotary’s auction will help us care for people like Bob. In his mid-80’s, Bob is learning to use an iPad so he can participate in virtual social groups. He also enjoys an occasional lunchtime treat that includes two fish sandwiches and a strawberry milkshake.”
