With the right support, a person can do anything.

Fifteen years ago he found CPARC…

Bryan was born in a time where many necessary services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities simply did not exist. For many people with disabilities, the lack of services can limit opportunities. But Bryan had a superpower growing up: his parents, especially his mother, were fierce advocates for his rights and ability to be involved in the community. With her unwavering belief in him, Bryan grew up knowing that he could do anything.  “She was tough, made me feel confident,” says Bryan about his late mother Gail, who passed away in 2022. She is Bryan’s inspiration.

Bryan’s journey is a testament to the difference your support can make. Because of people like you, CPARC has been able to provide Bryan with the resources and community support he needs to thrive in his adulthood. When Bryan found CPARC, he knew he found a place where he could have a good life. “Many other people need CPARC,” says Bryan.

With your help, Bryan has been able to overcome many challenges and has himself become an inspiration to many. “He is not afraid to repeat himself or ask for help,” describes CPARC Advocate Tori Manning. Your support empowers individuals like Bryan, who now helps others see that having a disability doesn’t mean they can’t achieve great things.

Bryan has always loved helping others. When CPARC’s Advocacy department launched the “Empower Me!” self-advocacy group, it just made sense that he became a leader within the group. “He is patient with others… makes sure their voice is being heard,” says Tori Manning. This group is helping people share their experiences and learn how to advocate for their rights, and it’s because of you that these opportunities exist.

But Bryan isn’t stopping there. He’s now joining the CPARC Board of Directors for 2025! He further strengthens CPARC’s mission to empower, inspire, and educate people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, their families, and the community.

Bryan’s life is a clear example of the empowerment of community. It’s the people who believe in him, support him, and empower him that have made all the difference.

But there are so many more people like Bryan who need help and support to reach their potential. With your donation, you can give the gift that keeps on giving and help empower people with disabilities, just like Bryan.

P.S. This holiday season you can give the gift that keeps on giving: EMPOWERMENT!
